The main idea of the program is to recognize one family as Pradhan (Chief) Sponsor of the main pooja conducted on Sundays.

The Pradhan Sponsor's family will receive the special blessings from the Priests.
 
Devotees can use this occasion  to celebrate any special occasion in their family, like a wedding anniversary or birthday, or any other special function.

• First, the Pradhan Sponsor and their family members will be seated in a special place facing North close to the deities.


• The pooja proceedings start with "Shira Vastra Dharanam". This will be the tying the sacred cloth on the Sponsor's head by the priests.
  
• Next, the Sankalpam will be performed in the Gothram, Name, Nakshatram and Raashi of all members of the Sponsor's family.


• The main pooja will include Invocation, Argyam, Doopam, Deepam and Naividyam and Homam as per Vedic traditions.


• At the end of the pooja, the priests garland the Sponsor and bless the family with fruits and chant the "Swasti Vachanam", the Vedic blessings, with the approval of assembled devotees.

Signing up for the program

1. To sign up for the program, please call the Priests at the Temple, 515-795-2635.
2. Please sign up at least one week in advance.
3. Please bring fruits and flowers for the pooja.
4. The Sponsoring family will pay the same nominal costs to become the Pradhan Sponsor for the Pooja.
5. The Temple requests the Sponsoring Families to prepare Prasadam at the Temple.
6. Sponsors will assist with the cleanup effort after the food distribution.
